Vuk to support Fever Ray on the 2009 US Tour
Vuk is a Finnish-American, experimental artist, who has been described as performing “unprecedented wonders” “in a territory somewhere between that of PJ Harvey, Nick Cave, Anette Peacock, a church organist on acid and ancient Bulgarian folksongs.” (-Jussi Niemi, Aamulehti).
Her wildly eclectic, genre-defying music explores inner, fictional landscapes, sculpted by dreams, sex, trauma, death and spiritual ecstasy.
Her second album, “The Plains,” was released in Finland by Pyramid earlier this year, to unanimous critical acclaim. Almost baroque in her arrangements on the new album, for her tour with Fever Ray, Vuk will be stripping down her songs to their bare bones, performing solo with a harmonium and autoharp, allowing her unique voice and unconventional songwriting to take center stage.
